Why I'm Running

I’m running because CPS students are being asked to do more with less. As a recent CPS graduate and former Local School Council student representative, I’ve seen firsthand how decisions about our schools are made - and how often students and families are left out of them. I want to bring a fresh, student-centered voice to District 8B, demand better resources and accountability, and make sure our community has a real choice at the ballot box - not an uncontested election. Our schools deserve better, and our voters deserve a choice.

This is a write-in campaign for Chicago School Board District 8B. While only one candidate will appear on the ballot, voters in District 8B still have another choice: you can write in Alexander Angeles for School Board. Only voters who live in District 8B can cast a write-in vote for this campaign. If you live in another School Board district but support the same push for stronger schools, greater accountability, and more community choice, you can still help by supporting like-minded candidates running in your own district. Your vote is still a choice - even when the ballot only lists one name.
